The trading signal channel is most likely to create an illusion: successful cases can always be found quickly, while failure cases are scattered among old messages, supplementary notes, editorial records and content that is no longer accessible. If you only search for “take profit”, “profit” and “double”, you will not get the channel performance, but the samples that the publisher wants you to see.
The search tool can help you organize the currently visible messages in chronological order and check whether the signals are consistent; it cannot prove that the history is complete, let alone verify that a channel will be profitable in the future. The first principle of review is to separate “what the channel shows” and “what the complete record actually looks like.”
Why hit rate screenshots have almost no audit value
A screenshot usually lacks position opening time, tradable price, position, fees, stop loss, liquidity and failure samples. The channel can emphasize an earlier vague bullish call after the price rises, or it can write a chance to hit one of the multiple targets as a win. Even if the screenshot itself is not faked, it could be from a selected time period.
A reliable review requires at least a predetermined complete window, such as the past 30 days, and incorporates all signals within this window that meet the definition, rather than retrieving only messages with celebratory words. You must also write clearly “what counts as a signal” before you start: whether it must include assets, direction, entry range, time and exit conditions; whether vague comments are excluded.
Reconstruct a signal using a six-column timeline
| Field | Question to answer |
|---|---|
| First published time | Does the information appear before or after the market occurs? |
| Asset identity | Do the name, ticker, and contract address point to the same object? |
| Entry and Direction | Is it clear, or is it open to multiple interpretations after the fact? |
| Risk conditions | Are stop loss, expiration conditions, positions or deadlines clearly written? |
| Subsequent updates | Are there timestamps for adding positions, changing targets, canceling and taking profits? |
| Current source status | Is the original message still open, does it appear changed or missing? |
The question template can be written as: “List all messages that contain both specific assets and clear directions on the current channel from July 1 to July 31, and concatenate them by first signal, subsequent update, and result statement. Both success and failure are retained; those lacking entry, stop loss, or exit information are marked as unevaluable. Each judgment is accompanied by the original message.”
Don’t base your strategy on channel replacement based on subsequent prices, and don’t calculate returns in the absence of reliable market data. asktele is used to retrieve channel messages and return to the source, not a market backtesting system.
Check for three common deviations
Deletion and editing deviation
After the failure signal is removed, any statistics that rely solely on currently visible messages will be high. Third-party knowledge bases may indicate that a source has subsequently become unavailable, but there is no guarantee that all deletion history will be discovered or recovered. Website snapshots, reposts and screenshots may also be incomplete and cannot easily be relied upon as authoritative versions.
Therefore, the conclusion of the review should be written as “how many items were found based on the current query range” rather than “how many items are there in total in the channel history”. The start and end time and number of messages displayed on the page should be placed next to the conclusion.
Survivors and Selection Bias
A channel may give many conflicting directions at the same time, after which only one hit is quoted. The search should include all directions of the same asset at a similar time, and also check whether a signal was reinterpreted after the result appeared.
Untradable deviation
Low-liquidity assets may rise rapidly after the channel is released, making it impossible for ordinary subscribers to transact at the screenshot price. Trading fees, slippage, withdrawal limits and the channel’s own early positions can all change the results. Pure message retrieval cannot verify real transactions, so these items should be listed as unknown rather than directly replicating the revenue figures.
Identify high-risk signs of investment group chat fraud
An investor alert from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Investor.gov notes that investment group chats may lead to trades through impersonations of well-known individuals, false AI signals, risk-free promises, and pump-and-dumps. The FBI IC3 also reminded that criminal gangs will set up investment clubs on social media or messaging applications, using so-called experts, a sense of urgency and low-priced stocks to induce buying.
When you see the following combinations, do not continue to verify the “win rate”, but protect your funds and account first:
- Strangers take the initiative to pull you into a group chat, claiming to have inside information or a guaranteed profit model;
- Use words such as limited quota, promotion tonight, no more misses, etc.;
- Require trading only on designated platforms, wallets or small securities;
- Claims to use AI, insider relationships or a team of experts and therefore guaranteed returns;
- Show small profits first, then ask for more funds or pay for unfreezing, taxes and withdrawal fees;
- Administrators, so-called mentors, and “mentees” in the group work together to create social proof;
- Prevent you from contacting a licensed professional or making inquiries about the subject through independent channels.
Don’t relax verification just because a message has an official agency profile picture, celebrity photo, or a repost from a certified channel. Telegram’s certification instructions emphasize that certification is used to help identify official sources and does not mean that the platform endorses the content or opinions expressed by that source.
Multiple signal channels are not more independent evidence
Multiple channels may be from the same operations team or may be duplicates of each other. Identical copy, timing, links, and order of recommendations can suggest an association, but similarity alone cannot assert a behind-the-scenes identity. When comparing across sources, the original messages of each channel should be saved separately, and the number of forwards should not be counted as the number of independent verifications.
Asktele can currently manage multiple broadcast channels, but a question only targets one selected channel at a time and will not automatically perform cross-channel backtesting. You can use the same audit template to organize records within the current scope one by one, and then compare them in external tables; in the end, you still need to introduce reliable market data, cost models, and independent party verification.
When to stop immediately and get help
If you have already transferred money, surrendered account permissions, installed remote control software, or cannot withdraw cash, stop adding funds. Contact your bank, exchange or wallet service as soon as possible, retain evidence of chats, transactions and addresses, and report it to local regulatory, consumer protection or law enforcement agencies. Don’t believe strangers who claim to be able to recover your losses for a fee first, as this may be a secondary scam.
asktele is not an investment advisor, broker-dealer or fraud investigation agency, and does not execute transactions. What it can do is help you find the timeline and message source within the authorized channel and current data range. Any “high winning rate” conclusion should not become a financial decision without a complete sample, verifiable transaction, and independent data.
